So, I work in a restaurant that is really busy in the summertime. On one really busy night, I had a table of six. They sat at ”table 16,” the one table everyone of us hated. It was all on one check, they were very polite, and I thought for sure, I was gonna get at least $20 off of them.
I dropped the check off, and the elderly woman at the table took it. As they were leaving, I was taking another order, and the lady came up and told me how much they enjoyed my service. She then rubbed my ass and walked away. I went to the table to collect my tip and to my surprise, nothing. Not only did the lady molest me, and not leave a tip, but she didn’t pay her bill at all.

I must say, this drawing of a dinosaur in a spacesuit is clever enough to count as a tip for me.
I’ve only been serving tables for about a month now, but I went into work today feeling that I really had the hang of it.
I had a table of three come in, I payed close attention to them, always making sure their drinks were full (of course without ever hanging over the table,) made friendly conversation when they addressed me, and sold two of our most fancy desserts. Everything went smoothly. I was quite pleased with myself.
But at the end of $75 bill, no tip. I kept playing it over in my mind to see if I went wrong somewhere, but that was the most efficient table I had ever served. I understand this kind of thing happens sometimes, but it can be disheartening. The rest of my shift was pretty lousy after that.
